There's a couple of things I love on B, but A is just more even overall.

I'm interested to see the way A heads down the tracks. B is nice but too predictable.

There's just not enough on A that I'm familiar with, I'm afraid. No shame in that.

B for me - like Coan says, it may be a "safe" list by BCB standards, but you know what? Lock me in that panic room with the big duvet...not even the inclusion of Candyskin is enough to tempt me out in to the big scary world of A.

That Sharron Tandy track is the fucking bollocks. Like the Slick Rick track too and that's my favourite Congos track. Couple that with the fabulous Fire Engines track (which I bought all those years ago) and A provides a compelling case. B's Mozzer and Nancy and Lee tracks are spiffing and I like The Immigrant Song more than most Led Zeppelin tracks but it just doesn't do quite enough.

B is the best of a poor opening match.

The only things i like from B are the Led Zep and the Can. It also has a couple of great artists ( John Martyn and Bowie ) with weak song choices.

A has deep cuts from Gene Clark, John Cale and the Congos and adds the raunch of Tandy and colour of the Billy Nicholls.

Quite a tough opening match for me. I know B is a safe, BCB-friendly list and all that but you can't deny it's quality. A appeals to the music-snob in me but the problem with providing links is we can actually hear it rather than just admire the cut of it's jib. And rather dreary some it was too. Nevertheless the Cale, Clark and , most of all, the Brenda Holloway tracks are monsters. Tight one though.

I couldn't hum a single one of A, which is too willfully obscure by half.

Don't dislike any of A (had to use the links for some) whereas B has a couple of dislikes and some more I'm quite happy to never hear again.
