Actually, this was discussed at the JU on Saturday. I stated my opinion then - no Plates, no Bizarro, nothing but the BCB Cup.

Let's not dilute a winning formula and clog up this section with a competition for people that have already had their chance.

You really want to take away the one thing I have an actual chance at winning?

I agree the plate just stretches things out and convolutes them needlessly, though.

I would quite like to see another Bizarro Cup, having for some reason not bothered with last year's. I already had a couple of songs earmarked for it this time round.

But as for the plate, who gives a shit? It's for losers. That's right: looooo-seeeers.

The Plate was the superior competition last year with the better winner.......

I probably wouldn't vote in the plate, and not just because my list is actually doing ok in this year's competition. It does gild the lily I think.

You know when the proper teams play the football World Cup, the two lowest countries in the FIFA world rankings have an alternative final and the loser is the worst team in the world? It's a bit like that.

I couldn't be arsed with voting on the Plate. The Cup goes on long enough, and with eight pretty tedious lists left in, I'm having to make an effort to vote in that.

Fuck the Plate !!

signature material if you don't mind!

I really couldn't be bothered voting in a plate and have no idea what the Bizzaro Cup is. I couldn't even really say I'd do the BCB Cup again next year to be honest. If I don't win immediately I lose interest.

Oh, curses. I forgot. I'm so used to being a loser that I automatically jump on the loser's bandwagon. I'll go back to devoting my every waking moment to the mix club.

I have an idea for an ongoing sudden death type thread.

It would work like this:

I set a theme - say, best guitar solos - and people PM me their top five. I post the first four lists to get to me - and using the cunning poll option people vote for their fave list. After two days the poll closes and the winner sets a new theme, say best intro, best LP cover, worst number one single, coolest drummer.

Advantage - it wouldn't require one person to keep running it.
Disadvantage - it would never end. Ever.

I think the Bizarro cup is fun, and unlike the Plate it isn't simply a re-run of the original cup.
