ROUND TWO, MATCH 16 - SUPERDANS OUT -WALKOVER

Postby Butch Manly » 11 Apr 2008, 08:34

It's now three days since I PM'd Dan and still no reply so I'm declaring this Match a walkover. Apart from the obvious reason of his lateness I also took into consideration that he's very much an occasional poster these days who often doesn't check in for months and the fact that I want to keep the matches to a schedule where they're all posted over week nights, not weekends - It's now no longer possible to keep to the schedule without declaring a walkover. I hope Dan understands this when he eventually checks in.

Many thanks for everyone's suggestions and input on the matter. Ultimately, declaring a walkover to the next round seemed the most sensible thing to do, as well as the most popular. Apologies to the waiting competitor for the inconvenience and, indeed, lack of excitement at seeing their list up against somebody in the 2nd Round.

Round Two is now complete. Round Three will begin on Sunday evening. I've already received three "next fives" - can the remaining thirteen competitors please get their additional tracks to me by Sunday morning at the very latests.

Once again, many thanks for the words of support and thanks in PMs - my apologies that I'm usually too busy to respond. They are much appreciated.

I have been waiting for 15 ties for the privilege of voting for Superdans and against the dreaful, pathetically obvious, shouldn't have got through the first round, makeweight list that he was up against and I will not be denied.

A - great list, 10 tracks so good it doesn't need an extra five.
B - good grief is this what the BCB Cup has come to? A sort of Golden Shot scatter-gun attempt to be cool by some fucking old cunt who still thinks a Walnut Whip is 7p and milk comes from cows. The choices defy reason with their retarded simplicity and flat-cap naivite. If this poster has achieved something it is to be the first to successfully pick all the worst songs by the worst artists. Dire, dire, dire. Please someone put this sad tosser out of the misery. And then explain how a list as plaintively pathetic as this managed to limp past some genuine quality in the first round. Shame on you BCB.

A - Superdans

I know who it is because their terribly turgid 10 didn't crop up in any of the other ties. That's why I'm fucking livid!

My rule of thumb this year was to avoid anything you like, actually.

A wise move and probably why you're in the next round.

Walkover?

I could have stepped in with another 15 to make a match of it

No worries, Dan. In the end, it was no inconvenience to anyone. Just a shame you couldn't make it to a computer in time.

Next year, eh?

Indeed.

PCs still playing up a bit.

I wouldn't have gone that far with The Libertines in my list anyway.
