again, two lists that are pretty similar. Both fairly populist and unafraid to choose songs that have actually reached the charts, and both picking a decent range of 'alternative' rock with other genres represented by decent choices. But Avril Lavigne? B is a braver man/woman than me! Chutzpah isn't quite enough here - I think there are more songs I like on A. Can I just say that 'Teardrops' is a surefire mood-enhancer, and you can't go wrong with those songs from The Fall, The Smiths and Iggy?

B has some great choices but disgraces itself far too frequently. A is no angel itself, but wins out thanks to one or two top picks - The Fall's finest moment the clincher.

A actually improves its list with its additional five, whereas B rather snatches defeat from the jaws of victory with its five. I have a feeling the flaws of both will be exposed in the next round.

Abstain. Infuriatingly inconsistent lists. Somebody's taking the piss.

'A' has an ace in "Don't Worry Baby" but look at B's audacity with "Sk8ter Boi" and the incredible texture of ..

North American Scum - LCD Sound System
Mack The Knife - Louis Armstrong
Two Sevens Clash - Culture
Svefn-G-Englar - Sigur Ros
I Luv U - Dizzee Rascal
Levi Stubb's Tears - Billy Bragg
Wednesday Week - The Undertones
Hard To Handle - Otis Redding
Outdoor Miner - Wire

I think I had a pop at A in the first round, so lets say that mix of Stardust, The Fall, Eels and Womack & Womack tracks is excellent. However, despite the major (it can't be stressed highly enough) faux pas of Avril Latrine, B still is a worthy winner here.

Good lord! Avril Lavigne!! "Sk8ter Boi" is truly truly wretched. Adding it to the list was certainly a balls-out move. But so is jumping shirtless into a pile of cacti, and I won't go for that either.

The addition of the Louvin Bros. and Arthur Conley were good decisions for A, which also starts out with an ace Fall track.
