Another really tough choice. These were two of my favourite lists from Round 1. Of the additional 5s though its the Joni track that is playing in my head and that's enough to shade it.

For the first time this year, I'm going to have to do a kind of points thing. + if I like it, 0 if I'm indifferent or haven't heard it, - if I don't like it.

Sick of being sick - The Damned +
Lemonaide Kid - Kak +
How is the air up there? - The La De Das +
Hush Hush - Jimmy Reed 0
Who knows where the time goes? - Sandy Denny +
Song of a Baker - Small Faces +
Free your mind and your ass will follow - Funkadelic +
Bell Bottom Blues - Derek and the Dominoes 0
I often dream of trains - Robyn Hitchcock 0
Feelgood by numbers - The Go! Team 0
I've got five dollars and it's Saturday night - George Jones and Gene Pitney 0
John Cage Bubblegum - Stereolab 0
Floreat Inertia - Half Man Half Biscuit 0
Not the sort of girl I like to take to bed - John's Children 0
Free man in Paris - Joni Mitchell -

List B:

I Wanna Be Adored - The Stone Roses 0
See Emily Play - Pink Floyd +
King Of The Rumbling Spires - T.Rex +
Madonna Of The Wasps - Robyn Hitchcock & The Egyptians 0
Stoned Love - The Supremes +
Let Go Of You Girl - The Left Banke 0
Save It for Later - The Beat 0
Please Let Me Wonder - The Beach Boys 0
Just Like Tom Thumb Blues - Nina Simone 0
Vapour Trail – Ride +
Tower of Song - Leonard Cohen +
So Sad About Us - The Who +
It's A Man's Man's Man's World - James Brown +
Shangri-La - The Kinks +
The Rainbow - Talk Talk 0

B, then. Altho' A's Funkadelic choice is one of the best things I've seen this year. I love that track.

B. I must have missed its first round match, but any list with I Wanna Be Adored and Please Let Me Wonder is going to do badly not to get my vote.

Ooh, this is getting tough. I'm going to have to ponder this and vote later. Nice picks all around here.

Get over yourselves. A is flapping its arms from the shoulders. B is going to win.

Curate's eggs, both, but I'll go with B - with reservations.

Neither really understand where I'm at, though.

Both are still too retro, a token couple aside, but B's got the goods- especially the newest 5- one of my favorite Kinks songs, a less-predictable and too-easily overlooked Who track, and, while it's far from my favorite, a nice Cohen choice as well.

Only the Joni track strenghthens A, where B now has Great Who, James Brown and Kinks( my fave from them ). A still has a handful of beauties with the Damned and the Denny being the picks but B edges it for me despite the awful Ride ( a band whose music aspires to the skies but is brought crashing down to earth by the gormless vocals ).

A 50 palys B 41. B starts off with 2 10s and then gets mundane. B has a 10 for Sandy Denny and one for the Go! Team, plus a 10 in the next 10 for HMHB.

Close one. It'll have to be B.
