B wins for the fine Roxy Music and the Lovin Spoonful tracks.

Most recent track on either is from the mid 80s, daddio.

A hits the highest score so far 73, 10s for Blondie, Nick Drake, The clash, Baba O'Riley and Elvis, and it would have been higher except for the inexplicable choice of moby dick. B got a 10 for Jackie Wilson, but it was well beaten by a monster of a list.

All goiod tracks on both lists, but curiously unengaging. B

A can't decide whether the artist or title goes first, so B.

(Actually A's choices are a bit too classic and obvious.)

The triple whammy of:-
Blondie - Heart of Glass
Nick Drake - River Man
The Clash - London Calling

against
Gudbuy T'Jane - Slade
(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher And Higher - Jackie Wilson
Darlin' Be Home Soon - The Lovin' Spoonful

difficult, but B, though a big sorry to the other lists author.

A is frankly not BCB Cup material (much too familiar songs) and

Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick

is just taking the piss.

B, on the other hand, is simply great, with many favourites and a couple of unknown tracks I'd love to hear.

(Crawdaddy Simone? Syndicats????)

A is safe but solid, with a couple of real crackers in Jimmy Cliff and the Isleys. B is more adventurous and has Slade, Shangri-Las, The Faces and Lou Reed, but the other tracks don't move me.

Close call, but it has to be A.

I know far more on A (and love a lot of it) but I'm with neverknows. B seems like the record collection of the coolest older brother you'll never have.

My own personal tip would be for B to include a stone cold cannon classic in their next five, should they go through. It might be doubly revealing and really tie things together.

Quite a tough call. I like a lot on A. As noted already it is a tad "obvious", though I wouldn't deduct marks for that as long as the songs are good enough. Unfortunately some of these big hitters don't quite hit big enough for me.

And I love More Than This. Nice to see somebody select some Roxy Mk II, especially that one. I'm more familiar with A but what I know of B is marvellous, so I'm going for that one. B, that is.
