a..

Playground Love - Air
Song For The Dumped - Ben Folds
A Pair Of Brown Eyes - The Pogues
Julia - Pavlov's Dog
Hold On, I'm Comin' - Sam & Dave

b..

She Does It Right - Dr Feelgood
Kathleen - Townes Van Zandt
The House That Jack Built - Aretha Franklin
Do The Strand - Roxy Music
I Found That Essence Rare - Gang Of Four

Oh christ, I don't know. I'll sleep on it. Both lists have plus and minus points about them...surely Taps can extend the deadline to just a bit longer! :-D

Very good matchup though.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.

I'd have to ditch Air, Pavlov's Dog, Roxy and Gang of Four making it a straight 3v3 match up. 6 good choices left, but on balance it's.......

I love both Roxy and Gang of Four, so it's B, y'all!

'A Pair of Brown Eyes' is one of my favourite songs of all time. In a 5-aside tournament, that goes a long way.

A for the same reason. I couldn't do much better than you.
It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

a..

Playground Love - Air Kiddie tampering is illegal in this country, so should this be
Song For The Dumped - Ben Folds How apt
A Pair Of Brown Eyes - The Pogues Like a pathetic pooch begging for food, this holds no truck with me. I like cats
Julia - Pavlov's Dog I had a girlfriend called Julia. She was dead posh but a bit of a dog also. This is the same, a good idea at the time but ultimately unsatisfying
Hold On, I'm Comin' - Sam & Dave Too late, you've shot your bolt

b..

She Does It Right - Dr Feelgood This is right
Kathleen - Townes Van Zandt Townes is dead. Lets keep it thus
The House That Jack Built - Aretha Franklin Weird Soul/Acid House crossover? Just not right
Do The Strand - Roxy Music The Strand is a long strip of manky polluted tarmac in central London. This is its aural equivalent - littered, grimey and smelling of week-old tramps piss.
I Found That Essence Rare - Gang Of Four So rare in fact, it contains no semblence of music.

Aaah, pish! Just read the first post and it appears I've missed the deadline.
"U2 routinely spent a year in the studio...I have a theory: if you put four monkeys in the studio for a year with Lanois and Eno and Lillywhite, they would make a pretty good record, too."

So when's the semi-finalists' losers play-off plate competition thing?
