B

Curtis wins it and, besides The Sparks track, A clearly wanted an early exit, so I think it only fair to grant it, don't you?

not overly keen on either. both will fall in the next round. A's 96 tears is a distraction, but further study reveals that B is a winner.

I like the second one a bit better. It took a few more chances and had some dynamite selections.

Intriguing Walkmen choice by A and 96 tears, Wire and Sly are good solid choices.

Who Knows where the time goes is one of the many songs that i've thought of since I PMd my list in and the one i most regret not chosing. if i actually get to chose anything else it'll be there.

It could probably win it on it's own but I love everything else except the Joy Division track and even that is good.

so B

A's actually got some solid tracks amid the curios but I can live without Sparks. There's nothing at all wrong with B, though. It's vair naice. B.

I really like some of A's choices and if it wasn't for 2-3 weaker picks i'd probably vote for it. As it is, it has to be B.

Tough one to start with - A has a number of inspired choices, particularly that spine-tingling Carpenters cover from Sonic Youth.

However, B scores with the classic Manc post-punk one-two of 'Transmission' and 'Beasley Street', then hits a home run with that great Bobby Womack song.

B wins by a short head.

Despite Sparks, Wire and 96 Tears I'm going for B.

Better overall.

B wins it for the Freda Payne,Bobby Womack (this track was lined up as an additional five for me -I may have to rethink that now) and wonderful Curtis song. Good selections all round.
A is a bit of a curate's egg in comparison and loses marks for picking James Taylor quartet when they should have picked the Tom Scott 70's version.
