A very scientific approach there mate.

That kind of logic is the future.

A for me.

You prefer B too do you?

Moving the goalposts. How fuckin' dare he?

Exactly!!

The goalposts weren't moved on my round - if they were I'd be here now, not these couple of chancers.

A

There is a lot to like about B's list, but it misses the mark with scandalous regularity, whereas A's list never relents. Is it going to get Modernist's vote? No, and I can see and understand why. Is it the best list? Very, very clearly.

Well A beat me, and it was a good contest, that. And it has enough to get itself through, though its latest 5 aren't quite as strong as the last ones- Big Country and I Second That Emotion aside, of course.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.

A is fucking rubbish, as indeed is B. A triumph of the banal over the mediocre. No doubt when I grow up I'll be listening to the sort of MOR tosh represented in both lists. Until then if I ever seem to be leaning towards even contemplating someone like Elvis Costello, XTC, Squeeze or the Talking Heads just fuckin shoot me and put me out of my misery.

A could have beaten me - but B would not have beaten me.
I should be second.

I would like to thank all those who voted for me throughout the competition and those who had complimentary things to say. I would also like to thank Jeff K for being a very worthy adversary and good sport. I had never done one of these and it was a lot of fun. As someone who is outside the inner circle of the BCB members, it is a real thrill for me to win this Cup. Thanks again.
