B is much better, less tedious classic alternative rock. B has spirit and joy.

His Wilco selection is a particular favourite.

Yeah, that's proably my favourite Wilco song, too. I haven't played Summerteeth in ages, I might do so later. I was thinking of mainly the Miles Davis choice, too, which is just gorgeous.

A is better but the other match should have been the final.

A has this strange habbit of actually getting better with each new 5, whereas B gets slightly worse.

If it didn't have that tedious first three I'd probably like it a lot more, I'm just turned against it by those being the first ones I see whenever I look at it.

A wins the hit count 9 to 7, but B is a lot more adventurous in his choices.

So A loses because he included the beatles, bob dylan, the beach boys and Elvis

And for some reason that rubs me up the wrong way

Nonsense. Anyone can see that A is the superior list.

Good comment. I have more love for B's list, but A covers all the bases.

Every time I look at these lists, the killer first two tracks always wins it for B.
In science, the most important criteria for success is not being stunningly full of shit.
