I'll vote for B. Is "White Man in Hammersmith Palais" the song du jour or what? Some good stuff on A, I just think B's list is more solid.

one man's all over the place is another man's ecclectic, i suppose. personally, i look for a bit of variety with the quality. i don't want a list that looks like a mojo freebie tracklisting.

talking of which, this mojo presents...PSYCH OUT! disc i'm listening to right now is awful.

Tough, there are a load of little individual gems on B that always make me smile when i hear them. Those tracks you can easily see someone stumbling across by accident and meaning something special to them. Whereas A is good stuff but very checklisty.

Very strange Gregory Isaacs choice as well

Um, A's got the players but B is more of a team

Definitely A. What a great Kinks song, it may be their best. A's list really works for me, you get a sense of the potential of music; the range of moods, textures and attitudes that it can carry.

B has nice selections, but there's a lot of crap there as well.

A for me, better songs all round (although Summer in the City was a fine addition for B)

A's still better though, and don't diss the Isaacs choice, it's almost as good as Objection Overruled

Two very good lists though.

And checklisty isn't a word.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.

Try The Procal Harem track, that's actually quite soulful and comes as a bit of a relief from some of the other stuff on there.

Either of these would romp home in other rounds. But, there's a choice to be made and it's B, simply because not only is it consistently strong, has some all-time jukebox favourites and chilled classics, but also has the Beastie Boys and allows me to make up for voting against Handshake Drugs earlier. Magic.

A has gone for the "If in doubt, chuck in a Kinks track" rule - undoubtedly one of their best.
But B has so much stuff that makes you go ooooh (a critic writes) it wins by a mile.

Its B
