Oh well, I guess B is alright.

I'm glad this is back, I've just been spending an hour re-reading all the round 1 matches - I've really got the addiction pretty bad.

A starts fantastically with It's Too Late, what a delightful single this is. It has that lightly funky early 70's feel, you can almost feel the sunshine.
Unfortunately it's followed up by the very drab Joe Jackson and The Streets selections and it never really recovered from this, although props for The Auteurs.

B is a mixed bag frankly, but has very much improved with its additional five, especially the Hayes and Summer choices. Shame they can't ditch the Van choice though, it's just such an unpleasant song title.

B then

Fair play to A for Aimee Mann but really that Streets song is the biggest load of old wank I've heard in my life.

Clearly, B. Solid performers from Lizzy, Auteurs, Aimee Mann and Squeeze are overwhelmed by yuck on A, and B only really has Van to worry about, although the list could do with some pep.

The presence of the Chilli Peppers means eternal damnation for list A.

Good additions to B, especially Wonder Boy.
