B had more of my personal favourites;

Velvettes - Needle in a Haystack
Clash - Straight to Hell
Go-Betweens - Cattle and Cane
Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place

And what a trump card!

Sigur Rós - Svefn-G-Englar

my arcane marking system makes it:

Mr Tapioca Head wrote:
list a......

115 points

list b.....

119 points

which kind of surprised me, actually. i seem to be voting for a list which has the cars and split enz in it and against the damned, the temptations, wreckless eric and the impressions. in that sense, it doesn't seem right, really, but.....

Expected a close game, but it turned into a rout, with A breezing through to a massive 5-1 victory.

Loads of shite in both lists.... but:

A has......

Some Velvet Morning - Lee & Nancy
The Ship Song - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Train From Kansas City - the Shangri Las
Teenage Kicks - the Undertones
Maggot Brain - Funkadelic
Who Knows Where the Time Goes - Sandy Denny
Teacher, Teacher - Rockpile

B has.....

David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes
Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever
Pogues - Streets of Sorrow/Birmingham Six
Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place
Congos - Congoman
Del Shannon - Runaway
Split Enz - I See Red

It's a tie...

*thinks*

A !!

Like others, I've decided to devise a score system for such a prestigious occasion and it's come out 105-101 to B.

You know, I love parts of both lists dearly...and I think A is more consistent. But there is something about the way B grabs me. I know this is ridiculous and such, and I know I'm liable to turn. But it will have to B that way.

You never know I might change my mind. Be prepared for one of song-by-song scoring things. It's only be right

A definitely
B is loses my vote on "Ashes To Ashes" alone.

Really, really close, but these supersubs win it for me:

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Who'll Stop the Rain?
Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees
Sigur Rós - Svefn-G-Englar

Where have you been hiding these, fella?

A close thing, an excellent attendance in the final but we have a worthy winner, who I'll announce in a seperate thread.

The beaten finalist is SWEET BLACK ANGEL

Typical Scottish performance, snatching defeat from the hands of victory...

Still, 2 finals in one year Steve!
