A
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

B, for Motörhead, Sylvester and Jurassic 5. Sounds like my kind of party!

Not entirely impressed with a couple of the changes made by A, but it remains a fine list. B, well, I just don't get it.

A stormed into a lead on page 1, and though B rallied a bit, it wasn't enough. A 23, B 18. B was Davey the Fat Boy, which gives me the chance to revive one of my favourite exit puns...

I did vote for A, but it was close, and I'm Nobody's Baby Now was the most inspired pick on either list.

Thanks to all for this opportunity to compete.

As I make my exit, the overriding feeling I am experiencing is release. Release from the agony of wondering who I might be matched up against, or what songs might trigger a virtual lynch mob. Mostly I feel released from desperation.

Yes Moddie, you intuited correctly. There WAS something desperate about my list. If only you knew how desperate! The endless nights haunting the streets of Berlin, trying to conjure the spirit of Bowie and Iggy. The fear on the faces of my wife and children when they'd come home, only to find the walls of our house plastered with pages and pages of lists of obscure freakbeat oddities, proto-electronica, soul rarities. All repeated endlessly in every possible order and combination.

My boss called me in one day to ask how a project was going. I'm told I spent the first 40 minutes of the meeting debating myself loudly on the pros and cons of including "Blue Jeans On" by David Dundas (too obvious, I ultimately concluded). This, of course, led to unemployment and a quick spiral into a personal hell.

Did I want to kill that hobo for his iPod? No! But the voices told me that his shuffle had the opening song combination I'd been looking for. And all of those teens...their bodies still undiscovered. Their attempts to claw out of the pit in my basement while I stood above with a garden hose spraying ice-cold water imploring, "it builds a list of strong contemporary songs" at them.

All of this misery ends now. I am free. What I will do with my freedom - I don't really know. Are birds free from the chains of the skyway?

 Who knew the key to your freedom would be not Motorhead, but Jimmy Castor!

Thanks for giving us "Lord of the Manor," at least. It's more than we deserved.

 In my defence it was the list in the other tie that I called desperate..so it's Chris P Bacon who should be pissed off with me!

Your whining suggests otherwise.

No whining here - despite your projections. I simply couldn't care less. That is the be all and end all of my opinion on the matter.

I like something, he doesn't. Big deal. Who cares? Certainly not me.

Not really projections Bacon, you've a dozen or so posts on the Cup rules thread questioning why things can't be done to your specifications, including a threatened flounce 24 days after you joined the board - a new record?

Hmmm. New boy trying to understand the rules = whining. I see.

I actually did ask tmm to let my opponent go through with my best wishes in Round 1 because as I said earlier, I discovered pretty quickly that this just isn't my thing. I wish I had gone through with it in hindsight.
