B, best 11 left in the comp by miles!

The Motorcade Sped On is a blinder to play, I think I may have used that in the past beats DJ Shadow into a cocked hipster hat

it's difficult to get behind either list. i can see where B is going but their additional choices don't inspire. still, it gets my vote since i like more of it than A.

I'm not so into theme lists, so B would have been struggling even had it not been drawn against a list as strong as A.

I sometimes think unthemed lists show a singular lack of creative imagination.

Many lists are themed simply by the constraints of period and style of that person's taste.

I have tried doing lists all different ways and unthemed lists, mixing a variety of styles and periods in such a rigorous way that it almost becomes a theme in itself, seem to do better.

But as a voter themed lists are certainly more fun to engage with than a list that seems to have been generated by an iPod genius mix.

As B was outed in the first round as belonging to my outed alter ego no one in particular, I'd just like to say thanks to skope, Jeemo, martha, Copehead and others who voted for / at least liked some of it, apologies to Jeemo for pre-empting Murderers the Hope of Women (I love me some Creation-era Momus), and that, for reasons I explained in the general cup chuntering thread, I'm out of here - not that I wasn't going to get totally destroyed anyway by what I thought was a rubbish list that got worse :D . Apologies for having wasted your time

As someone who has paid good money for everything Jackie farted on, or near, I challenge this statement. I'd just about let it go by from Jeemo, but...

I chose this theme in order to focus on this track - which was left out of the first mix by a stoned clerical oversight :) - because there are only four at the very most to challenge it as the finest track by Britain's VU.

If you'd like to PM me your list of ten better, or post it in this thread, I'll gladly put aside some of my precious time to explain how and where you went wrong, and in which penitential corner you should stand wearing your pointy hat.

Two really, really great lists. A real pity one has to fall because inferior lists will surely sneak into the third round. A is ace but B is the bollocks.

Hard on A, though...

I voted for A in the first round and I'll stick with here, three good additions. I like some of B but the motorcade track is crap, A is stronger overall nonetheless. Nice cover of Girl From the North Country, and I like the Djangos pick.
