I'm liking A a lot. A really good mix of grooves, melodies, classics and more personal selections. Definitely one of my favourite lists left. I've got a good idea who it is too.
Good to hear Steinski again, but overall B isn't really my thing.

Both have some serious flaws, but A tied it together a bit with some good additions.

B was great in the first round, 'cause the songs were good enough to support the theme, but now the need to stick to it is bogging it down a little. "Stagger Lee" is great, but inevitable in a list like this, and there are better versions. That "Motorcade" thing is awful, and while it's nice to see Doll By Doll, I know it's for the concept. They have at least 10 better songs, even without going into Leven's solo career.

Not so! I've been VERY complimentary to a couple of lists that I assure you are not mine!

B even though it has picked a Momus track I had for later on if needed.

Themes are a foolish gambit. If you choose too narrow an organising principle, after the first 6 stonking-Hogarth picks you are left scraping the bottom of a shitty little barrel.

This and other mindnumbingly obvious observations are brought to you by the voters of

Really?!?
You just HAD to put two of my favs from last round against each other. F-you.

Gah...
Well I liked B a lot last round, but the new stuff doesn't add a helluva lot. But it would seriously pain me to vote against Julie Brown and Mojo Nixon. To no end.

A was one of my favorite lists in round 1 and aside from the Beach Boys the list is pretty damn good.

Okay track by track then....A's winners vs. B's winners.

Walking In The Rain, Grace Jones
Johnny Hit And Run Pauline, X
Styloroc (Nites Of Suburbia), Pulp
Aht Uh Mi Hed, Shuggie Otis
Life's A Beach, Django Django
Girl From The North Country, Howard Tate

VS

Link Wray - Jack the Ripper
Julie Brown - The homecoming queen's got a gun
Magazine - Honeymoon Killers
mojo nixon - death row blues
Lloyd Price - Stagger Lee

But A is just better. Sorry B. There were some major tracks I can think of easily that you COULD have put on a list with a theme like that. I can't help feeling like you failed to BRING IT for this round.
