Before you compile your next Cup list, put on some spandex and eyeliner like the rest of us Pommie assholes. You'll find your chances improve immeasurably.

The law of diminishing returns as applied to 60s music has really kicked the cup in the nuts this year

The trawling for ever more obscure tracks is turning up dross upon dross.

The original reason for the cup seems to have been lost and replaced by the idea that you have to find the best 8 tracks no one else has ever heard of

Sunday and Monday = two days. I didn't say 48 hours.

And no one listens to me anyway

I have a problem in that when it's song v song I can use the quick reply box on the first page and write while I'm listening. Having links, rather than an embed, means that every time I click a link I get taken to another page and what I've written gets wiped. It really is too much of an arse, and in the early rounds at least, I'm just voting for any list that contains a song I know and like or one with a theme I recognize, unless it's got a bowie track on it. Not that I hate bowie or anything, but you've got to have some standards

Simply click with the right button of your mouse and open the youtube page on a new tab.
Means you don't have to watch the clips either. :P

Thanks. It would be nice, but I have an Apple mouse and not sure how to do it. I can open two tabs, it's just a pain to keep switching between them, and one wrong move and you've lost what you've written.

It's the only thing we agree on.

It makes it a chore

Occasionally you get a great song you really love but.....

I must admit it is nearly worth it for Tracey Rogers, Jim Carroll and Channel Swimmer, but the obscure, for very good reason, crap you have to wade through on top of obscure, for a very good reason, song by famous artist......?

What a fucking balls ache.

At least if it was all themed people would have to put a bit more thought into it

You suck bcb. You suck.

People Who Died - Jim Carroll Band - a classic american track. I was INSANELY pissed to see some one else slap it on their list AND have the audacity to come up before me in the cup. Fuck you Matt Wilson. It's MINE! Mine I say!
Book of Revelations - Sun City Girls - you either get it or you don't with these guys. Apparently you guys don't. Losers.
Hellsville - Legendary Pink Dots - If you don't have dots you suck.
What’s Inside a Girl? – The Cramps - Duh. Cramps. I'm cramping just thinking about it.
My Way - Sid Vicious - Eat me bcb.
Mindless Contentment - The Plugz - Enjoy your mindless contentment you easy listening fat balding old moldy brits.
Had It With Girls - Fibonaccis - One of the best songs ever. So fuck you.
Life During Wartime - Talking Heads - I just put it on there because it worked with my next set of songs. Which you lot don't deserve to hear so bite me.

Jeez at least in years past I've been beaten at least by lists I'd possibly listen to myself. Even that comfort was stolen from me this year.

The number of people commenting on the lists this year seems to have hit an all time low. I do wish a few more would make the effort.

This post lacks the effortless joie de vivre and lighter-than-air humour that I associate with the author (if it's who I think it is). It seems to drag on and on, an interminable slog into the dark heart of attitudinal, exasperated mewling.

Abstain.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
