Contemporary?! That Missy Elliott track is 15 (count 'em) years old. And that's the only thing less than 40 years old. If that list is 'contemporary' then I am a row of tents at Swanage campsite.

B

definitely the closest call of the competition so far, and I'll expect B to dig a bit deeper if it goes through, please.
Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Reasonable stuff throughout but the Left Banke, Lovin Spoonful and James Carr are the tracks that speak to me most so B

The Suede track is a killer, but that's pretty much where the story ends for me, as far as A is concerned.

B has got the Elvis (super love song selection ), James Carr ( just gorgeous), The Left Banke ( new to me and liked it a lot) and MISSY ( top choice).

It's a freakin' B

Not a lot wrong with the songs on B but as a whole it's somewhat staid and I prefer the livelier moves of A.

Awful thing when that happens. I had a similar experience at a Tom Jones concert.

B is absolutely fine but more than a little played out. I don't buy all of what A is selling but it's a list with more verve.

I think list A starts weak and finishes strong, and vice-versa for list B.

I guess I like B better overall.

Don’t like either much. There’ll be no hanging chads though:

A 17-16 B

A late rally couldn't save last year's runner-up Jeemo.

A, Sunday is the deadline for your next three songs.

I like both, but B sticks to the wheelhouse. The only 'discovery' there is Missy Elliot, which is nice. But any list with that Darry Weaver's going to get my vote, unless the rest of it is truly awful, which is definitely not the case here. In fact I even like the Fall and Suede cuts a lot! One of my favorite lists so far.

Were you correct about my identity? And what led to that conclusion?

I realize now I was actually speaking more of your opponent, though I did have a vague guess as to your identity (I was wrong).

It also seems quite possible that I was thinking of past cups, and that the people I was thinking were responsible for certain lists aren't actually entered this year.

Time to come clean about my list. It was all songs that had been covered live by eels. It was a bit a retro but I was thinking that I would throw a few of the more odd choices into the later rounds to dilute the "classic" vibe that a few picked up on. I lost by more than one as some votes were over the time limit.

Good luck in the next round......twat

Hey, cool idea!

If you'd included Feeling Good and Girls From The North Country, I might even have sussed your plan! :P

Great list, anyway!
