Semifinals - hardly any female acts, all Anglo-American, 60s-dominated rock/soul/indie lowest common denominator crap.

I meant to mention that this year my list included more female artists / girl singers than ever. Also I didn't notice til after I submitted that my 2nd round adds were all 'girl-related', altho no one else seemed to note it.

Loki wrote:Christine - I like her. Clearly I'm the only one here who gets it. I think she's very talented - performance artist, songwriter, arranger, singer, dancer, etc. I'm quite baffled as to the animosity she drew, altho I probably knew in my heart it was risky.

.....I was trying to bring something new and 'fresh' to the Cup, hopefully without it being considered 'obscure for its own sake' as many are accused of here. Evidently, Christine is too far off the beaten path, or was found annoying, or I don't know what the hell. Comments welcome. I've learned my lesson re trying to class-up the Cup. :x

The Small Faces - I don't understand why this song wasn't bigger in the UK. I think it's brilliant. I don't give a flying rat's arse what Coan says!

I know what my mistake was in Round 3. Total misread on my part. I'll own that.

Geoff Woade can suck it! One minute he's saying my list is one of his very favorites, then he turns on me like a rabid dog. WTF?

Headscratchers, Hatz? What's so head-scratching about the New Colony Six tune? It's beautiful, and that wistful piano at the end (not that anyone got that far) can bring me to tears. Gorgeously plaintive. Scratch THIS!

Meh, I've lost my momentum. Should've written earlier.

Thanx to whoda. Sniff

Nice one :D

Right, now the voters come out in droves to vote in the Semis. Where were you when I needed you in the Quarters, huh? :|

Not quite sure droves is the right word...there's been a handful more in each match this round compared to the last one. Better than nothing i guess, but still a shame more aren't popping in.

Meanwhile all the good lists have been sunk by cloth-eared ignoramuses and I find it real hard to develop any passion for the finals...

This may be the first year it looks like my 2 favourite lists (other than my own, of course) are headed to the final.

We should name the finals, Clive Gash and the Acolytes.

Yeah, the lead singer has to go though.

Shows how little my taste fits in here, I thought they were two of the worst lists in the competition. I wanted adventure and excitement.I got Suede's Animal Nitrate and a ubiquitous Blondie track.
