Motorhead and Neu! can fuck off. And they're poor Ig and Bowie choices.

A, easily.

A loses me with those dreadful Godard and Richman-picks, the 'hits' are good and the MuMus brought a smile to me face....
B is a bit of a cash-in on recent sentiments but no denying, good picks.

The Bowie card doesn't seem to be working. Seems a bit crass. And the rest of B ain't up to much. A is merely pleasant but Magazine pulls it through.

I'm finding the scolding here beyond silly. It's not like Motorhead and Bowie have never appeared in these things before. And suddenly B is supposed to ignore these great tracks just to prove they're not 'cashing in' on the sentiment? Does not compute. Besides, the Iggy track is great and, if anything, underappreciated here, the Three Degrees and Hathaway tracks are wonderful, and A, despite the nice Richman and Pogues picks, also gives us 9 boring minutes of Soft Cell and "Buffalo Gals" which has never been more than a cute novelty and isn't worth hearing the third time, let alone the thousandth. (And last I checked, McLaren's dead too. Are we supposed to finger-wag about that too? I can't keep the rules straight. )

Not much here for me, I'm afraid.

Hathaway and Iggy take it.

Christ almighty, it's B. That Cold Blood track beats anything on A straight up.

Both are ok for me, without any nice big surprises though.
Like the last 2 on A especially, but Hero' and 'S&V' give it to B.

B for Rhinoceros, the magnificent Three Degrees and Donny Hathaway.

Zéro pointé for a's Pogues, Richman and Soft Cell.

I'd quite happily never hear that Jonathan Richman song ever again.

I've picked 2 of B's choices in previous cups. Good lad.

I can only call this one a draw. There's not a lot here that's in my realm, and you're making me choose between the twin greatness of Neu! and Soft Cell. And I can't do that.

Yeah, and all you people slagging off Soft Cell and/or Neu! can fuck right off. Or don't. I don't really care. But you're in the wrong. Yeah?

*Edit - Cool drums on that Cold Blood track, but counterbalanced by the sheer shittiness of that Motorhead video.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
