I had high hopes for B given what I knew on it - Bellowhead, Fairport, Koerner, Toussaint, but alas I struggled with most of the rest. I like Crowded House and I like traditional folk and yet somehow the SPlit Enz sounded dreadful, the worst kind of folk night finger in ear woolly jumper dross.

A isn't exactly a home run but Rod, Lee and the Chambers Brothers see it home A

A is pretty solid, although some of it - Holmes, Lush - is underpowered, and the Wilson is nothing more than an interesting curio. The Dorsey, Rod and Chambers numbers more than make up, though, and I do like Kurt Vile a lot.
B doesn't appeal too much, though there are a few good picks: I liked the Koerner/Murphy one and of course the Fairports and Toussaint.

That Reuben Wilson track teeters on the edge of lift muzak before suddenly blossoming into something sublime.

I hate to vote against a list that features Split Enz, but I really dug the Reuben Wilson track, and the Chambers Brothers track is killer and I've always dug Lush, so A.

Some nice stuff on B but A ploughs a bit of a wider furrow and I like the inclusion of kurt vile and David Holmes.

A has many gems, but B is bolder and somewhat against the grain.

Clearer cut, this one.

B was Neige.

Nothing from the canon, no obscure garage track, no soul or r'n'b, no hip-hop...?

Thought so. :|

But 6 votes (other than my own) are actually more than I expected! :P

And I must admit that A's list is rather splendid!

I guessed that list was yours Felix. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree about the Split Enz track :D

That's a recent discovery of mine - I really like the melody, it's like a prog sea shanty.
