I didn't mean to start a whole thing.....yes, people say they would have picked something different, but usually leave it at that, without naming their preference.

Now it sounds like I'm being unreasonable, so I'll drop it right here.

Don’t like either list much. For the Garland Jeffreys and Peter Gabriel tracks

I can't believe this whole debate has gone on, and it's not been about the selection of "Let's Dance".

The Happy Mondays were disqualified from a special edition of the BBC’s Bargain Hunt after Bez broke the show’s rules by artificially inflating prices, handing victory to Pulp.

A 7-26 B

A was Fonz, for whom there can only possibly be one exit line.

B, please send me three new songs.

(David) Bowie died recently. 'Let's Dance' was a kind of tribute. I like it. I think SRV plays on it.

I just figured that if anyone was going to pick something by Bowie, it would've been an under-appreciated album track, or obscure B-side. General opinion seems to be that "Lets Dance" (the album, more so than the song) was the beginning of Bowie's creative nadir, and I personally consider it a fairly crappy 80s pop tune.

True story. But, ya know, some people have sentimental attachments to certain songs. Gotta say I have a very nostalgic, vivid memory related to this song. Still I get your point - knowing the BCB consensus, it IS a questionable choice. Maybe Fonz is just stubborn. ;)

I put the Bowie in because I knew it would wind up the 'real' Bowie fans. I like the tune, though I probably prefer 'Ashes to Ashes'.

The Supertramp song appealed for some reason. Fuck knows what :?:

The rest of my list is pure gold. I get the fact that there's a sizeable chunk of bob that don't get metal and/or guitar solos in general, but 'Tornado of Souls' has a Marty Friedman spectacular of a solo that thrills me 25 years after first hearing it.
The QOTSA track was a mistake. I don't pay much attention to song titles; I really meant to put 'Someone's in the Wolf'

Check it out!
