I'm jealous. I was mooching round the charity shops at lunchtime and found a photo guide to Budapest, and got all nostalgic.

Have we told you to go and see the Holy Right Hand in St Stephen's Basilica? For a paltry sum, you can press a button to make a little light come on, so you can really, really see it....

On the subject of which, that massive synagogue with the Jewish museum upstairs was worth a visit.

Yes, but did you like it? What was your hotel like? Did you buy loads of paprika?

( triff photos, by the way: esp like the skating)

The Atrium Fashion hotel was OK. Clean but small. None of the breakfast staff would make eye contact though.....and the breakfast? Urrgfh. Stewed vegetables (carrots & cauliflower), kidney beans, ratatouille and hot dog sausages. and those horrible greasy bits of bacon the have on the continent.
Apart from that... all the other food was top notch. Plenty of mulled wine too. But it was bloody cold.
