We had a lovely curry, went to a lovely market that had taken over the city centre, then went back to watch Match of the Day at his lovely flat in lovely Moseley. I remember being seriously disheartened by the road situation, though. Some proper eyesore architecture going on.
The "German Market" they call it...it has a hog roast stall and a beer stall with a singing moose head ...we go there every December when we go to drop off and pick up Christmas presents at my parent's house...

Leg of lamb wrote:The Birmingham one takes the concept of the German market to new heights. It completely blankets the city centre, with all sorts of beer, waffles and sausage vendors, toy stalls, sweet shops... well, it's pretty much like, um, a German market but much bigger. Worth an afternoon of anyone's time.

Same here.
When I was younger I used to be one of the "it's just another country" brigade. In fact I always saw myself living abroad when I was older. I'm the opposite now and have really got interested in the history of places too.
I've got a real hankering to move back to Kent. I'm not sure what it is.

I only read as far as this post. You are kidding, surely? It's two and a bit hours from Paddington. Just go.

Aye. They're hideous, aren't they?
