I say us over 55's should get their own forum.
We survived the original prog wars you know.
OK, so some are still fighting them but that's another story.

I thought Yakety Yak was the over 55's forum?
One night, an evil spirit held me down
I could not make one single sound
Jah told me, 'Son, use the word'
And now I'm as free as a bird

I was 19 when I attended that first Jolly Up in London back in 2003.
Now I'm becoming one of the old gits.

So it seems the average age is 45 - which is five years higher than I'd expected. Altho' I think the average age when a similar poll was taken a few years' ago was 40. Which implies we've had the same crowd since then, and no new blood. No surprises, then, really.

I don't think it's quite true we've had no blood - there are a few enthusiastic new posters over the past year or so (Loki and Googamooga being obvious examples), but they tend to be of the same age as the board's standard demographic. After all, it's not exactly surprising that a board populated by 40- and 50-somethings will attract other 40- and 50-somethings.

But, yes, I seem to be right in the middle of the board's age range at 45. This is what I expected.

I think what he (whoever he is - Coan?) meant young blood, instead of new blood. I'm guessing.

Ah, but you're not though! You're still firmly in the youngest populated age bracket.

And younger than me.

Bastard.

52. But I can still pass for 51.
