You worried about an epidemic? Here's an epidemic our media don't want you to be worried about. From the Lancet ... okay?

About 200 million cases of viral community-acquired pneumonia occur every year—100 million in children and
100 million in adults.

http://biblioteca.asmn.re.it/allegati/l ... 093922.pdf

And this is why the corona virus story is utter horseshit. Even if they tell us 1000, 2000, 3000 people have died, that's nothing compared to a real threat like pneumonia - which kills millions every year. So don't believe the hype, please. I mean they're considering stopping the Tokyo Olympics over this media/pharma fake trifle.

I could ask your lovely wife but isn't there a Tokyo Porn Exchange? I thought that there was one in every major city.

Read this and keep convincing yourself it's utter horseshit. Do you know the estimated death toll from the 1918 flu pandemic? Over 100 million.

Go on, I dare you.

Missing the point again.

How many times will you quiver when the boy cries wolf. What happened to the swine flu? Bird flu? SARS? Fucking AIDS? Your deadly 1918 Spanish flu? Fucking mad cow? Ebola?

The Corona virus caused influenza too will soon fade away.

According to the CDC there were 14,000 – 36,000 US flu deaths 2019-2020. They can't even get an accurate count can they get a vaccination?

In China: "based on an analysis of studies: 2.8 million to 17 million deaths per year. Source: “Pneumonia Incidence and Mortality in Mainland China: Systematic Review of Chinese and English Literature, 1985-2008” (PLoS one, 2010)."

Ask yourself why they are not shutting down cities and taking up hours of media time over the HUGE numbers of deaths caused by human to human influenza and pneumonia transmission?

Yes, I've read and heard some things about the 1918 flu but it's a poor comparison with today's scares. Considering alone how President Wilson shipped infected soldiers off to Europe in sardine can conditions no wonder the number of victims were middle aged.

As I look deeper into this corona virus rabbit hole I am learning that any media event, any narrative that smells like shit is shit. Take that Iowa caucus where DD insisted that Pete won - and apparently on TV he did win. But the whole event, all the shit about the vote counting app and how Pete had donated or paid money to the app company while at the same time polls were saying how Bernie would win handily and then Pete claimed victory. I smelled shit. Bernie won that motherfucker. Well, I did it a lot in the past but I'm gonna do it more going forward. I am going to disbelieve anything my good sense leads me to think it's unbelievable.

Go on believing what you are told to believe.

BTW, good reading choice. That book is the hard truth.

Can you really be this stupid? Why they are not shutting down whole cities because of pneumonia? Because it is a eminently treatable - indeed fully preventable - disease, with stage 1-3 of fully approved treatments, not to mention effective vaccines. People die from it for the same reason they die from HIV, diabetes, cholesterol etc - or because they are conspiracy nutjobs anti-vaxxers - but in this day and age there is no reason why they should beyond delayed diagnosis and/or age. Novel coronavirus is precisely that - novel - and we have no treatment for it. Hence the cause for alarm. It's basic logic, and very worrying, as any infectious disease is when there is no standard treatment. Nobody - nobody - has any interest in shutting down their entire economies unless they absolutely have to. I suppose you are welcome to consider it an overreaction or not - people i know are downright angry at the cancellation of MWC this week - but generally we do the best we can in difficult circumstances and I'd rather we err on the side of caution where possible.

Not sure this is relevant to making my case but it just struck me that these world shaping decisions are from the same group of experts who told us just a few years ago that eggs, butter and salt will kill you and that wheat is good.

Thanks you. I'd been wondering about that and avoiding saying it for months now.

It's a real Americanisation of it - I knew a European Buttigieg whose name is pronounced much more as it sounds "Butt-eh-geeg".
