You didn't know that Charlie?!

The line from "Drive In Saturday" about "Twig The Wonderkid" is a reference....

Didn't know that, either.

In medias res definition: a Latin expression that refers to a story, or the action of a play, etc. starting without any introduction.

I've never heard this phrase until yesterday..... it was being used to describe the start of "Livin' Lovin' Maid' by Led Zeppelin. Presumably this means any song that starts immediately with the vocal is in media res?

It was a commonly used motif in Antiquity. The Iliad starts in the middle of the Greek's siege of Troy with an argument between Agamemnon and Achilles.

Similarly, Star Wars begins with In Media Res.

If you have an ingrown toenail, after the nail is removed. The nail bed is treated so that the nail won't grow back. I'd always thought that the nail came back.

But Star Wars famously starts with "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away". That's an introduction isn't it?

I'd say it's difficult to use the phrase regarding songs, unless the song is a particularly narrative affair.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

That is interesting - I thought they'd be South American for some reason.

I'm thinking it applies to "Pulp Fiction" and "Citizen Kane" as well?

If the matrix is removed or treated. the nails won’t grow back. If it’s left in place they will.
I had both mine done in my twenties and wanted them to be able to grow back so I could wear sandals. A good decision as living in Texas means spending 90% of the year in flip flops.
