I had an English girlfriend for a time back in the '80s. I once used the word "bloody" in the English sense in conversation with her, and she (mildly) admonished me - "that's a swear word!" she said. I was shocked! How the bloody hell is "bloody" a swear word?

If I remember well Johnny Bugger's band were called the Dirt Baskets.
Classic stage performance. Published on the "What Do You Want From Live" double LP.
Recorded in some time in '77 at Hammersmith Odeon, so there's the 'bugger' connection, perhaps.
After his rant he bursts into "I Was a Punk Before You Were" which, given the year, is quite drole, coming from a guy born in Omaha NE.

" A is looking for a job. She was released from the army a couple of months ago. She applied at a restaurant on the beach across from where I work because she heard they need employees. I was surprised they are hiring as it's the end of the summer season. Turns out they have lost employees because these young people went to the rave in the south and didn't return. "

Not today, but recently, that Suella Braverman was, at birth, Sue-Ellen - named after the character Sue Ellen Ewing, from the Dallas TV programme.

Her primary school teachers shortened it.

Today: that her mother is Tamil (as is my wife's side of the family) and that her husband is Jewish
