Teaching English today to a lady real estate agent preparing an English questionnaire to deal with foreign clients and she asked me if an apartment's location is important to foreigners, meaning, after I probed a bit, its feng shui location. I told her probably not and so she eliminated the question from the questionnaire which she was patterning from a Japanese form. I then asked her if she believed in it and she said she did and that did I know the layout of Tokyo, formerly Edo, was based on it. The Yamanote train line runs in a circle around the main part of the city. The Imperial Palace is in the center of the circle. The circle is then bisected by the Chuo train line but the line does a dipsy-doodle around the palace that creates a yin-yang effect.

Connecticut is spelt Connecticut not Conneticut.
You come at the Queen, you best not miss.

Today I learnt that a senior manager with Royal Mail Group Operations believes that all postmen/women actually work a six day week as per norm.

Well I'll be FUCKED!!

Yet another deliberately provocative post gets the exact response expected - an argument- and then gets turned so it's the intended audiences fault for responding.

Ho hum. Who knew.

People don't always comprehend the wording and meaning of certain thread titles.

Wankers misinterpret others posts, on a daily basis.

Oh yeah, and post in the most patronising possible tone, even when they are COMPLETELY FUCKING WRONG.

Unlike New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania, the state of Victoria was never a penal colony and Melbourne was never a convict town.

I learnt Yomp has been to the same humour school as Gash visits, on a regular and relentless basis.

I've learnt that my shadow is having one of his days - chasing me all over the board, doing his best to disrupt and thread crap.

My apologies in advance.

Watching this cheesy black and white 1930s western about the Alamo on YouTube and there was a scene where a settler wishing to enter Texas is turned back at the Texas border by a Mexican soldier. "But this paper says I have my land waiting for me granted to me by the government!" (or something like that) the settler complained. Then I remembered how in a discussion about "white privilege" how early on white folk were granted land for free, thus a huge head start, and that the freed slaves got nothing. Reparations are in order.

I never put the land give-aways to settlers and the snatching away of the "20 acres and a mule" from freed slaves together.
