That every polling station has a 'ballot box compactor'

A flat stick about 15 inches long that they put in the ballot box slot to compress the slips allowing more space for additional papers. It has 'ballot box compactor' printed on the side and this one was duck egg blue like the underside of a WWII de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito.

When I discussed the said tool with one of then returning officers she said 'I just give it a good shake'

ooh er missus!

Jeremy Corbyn is an avid "drain spotter" and has photographed decorative drain and manhole covers throughout the country.

This one REALLY surprised me:

In the 1980's Kenny Lynch had a songwriting partnership with ....... Buster Mottram!

I can't even begin to imagine the cognitive dissonance that must have been involved from both sides.
Bugger off.

Thanks to Thora Hird’s Desert Island Discs I found out that tap dancing used to be called ‘walloping’!

I had a cat that would eat banana, apple or pear. She didn't like citrus either. Must be the high acid.

A sampler of hot spices sent to me by a BCB Secret Santa a couple of years back - sorry, can't remember who - included one teeny bottle with the label "Moruga". Fifteen minutes too late as I sit here sweating and my mouth burning despite the water and the milk I slugged down after tasting just a bit of the powder wondering how it might taste in the chili I am making, I learned moruga pepper comes from Trinidad, is also known as the scorpion pepper and is the hottest pepper in the world.

I found out this morning about The Grey Muzzle Ofganization. I've never been a fan of Carol Burnett but love her now for helping to start this organization. Kudos for caring ...

The Preludin site is "Insecure" says my browser. For instance, one just has to right click on any photo they post, click Search Google for Image and voila !

Not that I'm going to spoil their "fun" :)

Goats eat Christmas Trees -

Deen City Farm are asking for Christmas trees for their goats. For more info you can contact them or have a look at their Facebook page

Christmas Trees? "Yum", say our goats. When you take down your tree, don't just chuck it away, please bring it to the Farm for our goats to enjoy.
No plastic or decorations though!
Just find a member of staff and hand it over! We can take them whole or cut up.
