Gene Krupa was the first drummer to use a bass drum in a recording studio. He was also the first person to mount a tom tom onto said bass drum, pretty much defining the modern drum kit.

Saw somebody on social media correctly use / spell the term “damp squib” which is always a pleasant surprise.

But I realised I didn’t actually know what a squib is.
