I'm not a lurker. I don't see the point, really.

I was hidden for a while, but had no clue how that option was enabled in the first place. Once I realized it was on 'hidden", I changed it to visible. Curious as to why anyone would not want to be seen as "online."

I'm usually hidden because I log in in the morning and then check back at various points during the time. At times I have forgotten to log out at night and I didn't want to appear as being on here 24 hours a day.

Plus Nolamike sends me mash notes when he sees my name online.

I am not ashamed or embarrassed like others clearly are.

I'm often left logged in so appear online when I'm not.

I'm not sure if it works the same on all sites, but on another one, I believe it shows you offline when the actual screen isn't up / showing. Not sure tho.
