Wales were lucky.

The red card helped

They usually do, and they are rarely that clear cut.

Glad I wasn't watching that live I would probably have had a coronary.

New Zealand dismantled an aging over the hill Ireland side.
England dismantled an exciting but incoherent Australian side
South Africa showed exactly how you beat Japan, by shoving the ball up your jumper and keeping them pinned in their own half.
Wales squeaked it against a French side always prone to press the self destruct button

I think England are ahead of where New Zealand are as a team now by being more settled in the backs, plus Manu loves cutting up All Blacks. The packs are both phenomenal and it will depend who get's on the front foot there, I fancy England, their back row is just so dynamic. But if it went the other way it wouldn't be in the least surprising.

I think Wales will feel far more comfortable playing SA than France, they know how to beat those sorts of sides far better, they have beaten SA 4/5 in the last few years, usually fairly handily. I will very disappointed if Wales don't make the final because I have been expecting it ever since I saw the likely QF/SF match ups.

So I will go for an England Wales final and pick England to win on the reverse jinx principle.

Congrats to England. It’s not often you see the All Blacks completely out played . England had a plan to win the All Blacks didn’t.

I have to say part of me is hoping Wales lose tomorrow because I don't want to see them humiliated in the final by England.

I don't even think you can say New Zealand played badly, they were simply never allowed into the game for 60 minutes.

Not much of a rugby fan but that was awesome.

And I would LOVE to see Wales humiliated by England.

Agreed DD

NZ weren't in the game at all during the first half.

Maro Itoje was sublime and deserved man of the match

It will be interesting to see if England can front up to South Africa after that game against the All Blacks - it’ll be a close contest I imagine, and may come down to kicking penalties .

Don't know why you're trolling Wales. Have they offended Putin or something?

Bit disappointed, but not all that surprised. It was always going to be tight game decided on small details - who gave away a penalty here or there - and today those small details fell in favour of the Boks, but on another day it could have been different. Thought Wales missed Navidi's mobility in and around the breakdown, and Williams would've given us more running power ball in hand, but ultimately it just feels as if Wales' limitations as a team meant they reached their ceiling but couldn't beak through it. It'll be interesting to see what post-Gats Welsh rugby will look like.
England to win the final by a good 10, 15 points.

When I saw that Welsh guy outright punch the SA guy in the jaw, that's when my goodwill toward the Welsh team waned. Bastards.

As opposed to the lovely, fair-playing Boks. :D Not even sure which incident is being referred to here, let alone one that would lead someone to conclude they are bstards. And if it was something involving De Klerk (there were a few skirmishes with him) well I don't think there can be a more punchable player in the WC than him. Well, except for the smirking Farrell.

I'm neutral (with France having become my no 1 team by default through marriage over the years) but I'm bitterly disappointed that Wales didn't make it. I feel it would have been really good for the game, both because Wales have been really hard done by in the last two WCs and it would have been nice with a new team making the final. They may not play as entertaining rugby as in the past but they do also seem to have England's number which could have made for far more interesting final. SA-England just screams a pretty drab affair and I'm not even too sure I want to see it.

Not that I really give a shit but apparently SA's victory is a boost to Japan's ego because it means that at least Japan lost to a winner. So, go SA! (England will smear SA.)

I'm over it now.
We weren't good enough to win the whole tournament, but we should have beaten that SA side.
2 teams without too much in the locker except an exceptional defence and crossed fingers for some points.

England should destroy SA if they don't freeze

100% behind England, the team of the tournament, an all court game of guile, skilll and power.

well played Eddie Jones, his boaters have been something else, the Kamikazi twins should ensure England are a force for the next 10 years

The All Blacks looked like themselves again - partly because Wales let them and partly because the likes of Ben Smith and Sonny Bill, Crotty , Ioane and Sam Cane played with the sort of poise needed and showed why they should have all started against England. I wouldn’t right off South Africa in the final.
