Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

I like it. Do you know who the model is and who is P. Barrington?

Gouache is quite a difficult medium to get right but it works here. Have you bought this, do you intend to buy it, or is it on an old scrap of newspaper you've just found in the loft?

It's the work of Patrick Barrington who was married for many years to a boss of mine (I worked in her wine bar).
I was just idly Googling last evening and was really surprised to see so much on line within a few seconds about Patrick (and Hanna) and his work. I knew Hanna was further left than the Labour Party but I never knew before that she was a communist. Lovely to see a photo of them on their wedding day

I remember the picture I posted above, hanging on a wall in their garage, where they stored boxes of wine and had 2 or 3 fridge freezers, and really admiring it. I was really taken that it was painted on newspaper. I've no idea who the model is/was.

Here's more about him in The Guardian (which also surprised me) and more of his work -

Thanks for the info.

He certainly had a very nice style and an interesting palette that clearly reflected his heritage. I like the looseness and boldness in his work.
