Very sad news - certainly one of the greats. RIP.

My favourite Footy story: over a jolly up weekend, Footy went for walk in a park, eventually sitting on a bench to recoup his energies. A young couple, smartly dressed, came out of a nearby restaurant. Their path took them by Footy's bench, and as they approached, they stopped and consulted each other. The young man came up to Footy and proffered him a half bottle of wine, obviously left over from their meal. 'We want you to have this', he said, motioning to his companion.

Footy took the bottle, thanked them and smiled. Then he uncorked the wine and toasted them as they disappeared across the park.

Cheers old fellow. To Absent friends.

Heartbroken to hear about this. Truly and eternally “one of the greats.”

BCB/MOJO/Facebook was all the better for having him around and he will genuinely be missed.

I never met him but had a convo a long time ago with him and he's been a fan favourite forever....it's gutted me more that I expected.
There's definitely more to this place than tissues, issues and trolls. Really gonna miss the Footy-option.

This has hit me hard. Such a nice man. Hell, he bought me a drink straight after I first met him in person.

Bye bye Andy. We're going to miss you.

I never got the opportunity to meet him which I will always regret but I used to love his posts here. To even virtually know someone who had seen Hendrix play was quite special and none of us who read the sleeve notes to his Jolly Up CDs will ever forget them; they were truly moving.

When you see Prez, give him a boot in the knackers from all of us Andy.

I can hardly believe it.
He was part of the fabric here and the many Jolly Ups we all went on. Funny, generous and great person to be around.
RIP Footy.

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

I have just been reading the sleeve notes that Andy wrote, posted by James. Absolutely lovely. What a simply fantastic bloke.
Much love to all his family. RIP, you diamond geezer. :(

What terrible news to wake up to! Alas, I never met him at a JU, but everyone who did adored him, as far as I can tell. Truly one of the greats. Sail on, Footy! :(
