the very first time i participated in a secret santa on this board, many years back, i didn't really get how it worked. (sigh). i think my first gift was from brotherlouie, and i opened it the second i got it. started raving about it on the board.
cue board: err... kath? yer sposed to wait til christmas.
i lived and learned. mwhaha.
i just said this in the synch listen, but i will repeat myself here: i hope everyone has a fine holiday. tell the stories around the table. keep the sweet memories alight like a candle always burning. make some more memories.
love to all.

I'll start then:
My Secret Santa is clairvoyant or did some amazing detective work: my gift showed knowledge that I love the great outdoors, preferably near water, underwater wildlife, stuff that smells nice, Ireland, whisky and that a I'm a nut nut!
After a successful fight with the strongest and stickiest sellotape I've ever encountered (with drawn sea creatures and totally biodegradable, so I'm told

Not much detective work required for the identity of my Secret Santa, then (even without the sadly compulsory address)

Very chuffed, thanks a million, Anna aka Minnie, and merry Christmas to you all!

Re: Secret Santa - ALL PRESENTS RECEIVED! You beauties!
apologies to my secret santa.
i *thought* the package my sister put under the tree was from my secret santa, cuz the return address was in the UK. nope... it was a set of reboot star trek movies that someone else ordered for me. why they would be from the UK... hmm. the US mail has been pretty fucqued overall, so it may still come. i'll keep ya posted about the... post.
love to everyone all the same. merry christmas.

Cheers Stan. A veritable seasonal smorgasbord of goodies. A scarf that made me think my secret Stan might be a Geordie but other clues would lead me to believe someone from the Golden Triangle with an affinity for the West Country is involved. Anyway, sports books, industrial strength coffee, a garage rock cd set, interesting rum and comestibles. Thanks Stan. All will be put to excellent usage.

After a successful fight with the strongest and stickiest sellotape I've ever encountered (with drawn sea creatures and totally biodegradable, so I'm told), my parcel revealed plenty nicely fragrant Chinese rice paper, a beautiful hand-made card with a drawing of a mink (made in Estonia [!!]), a Robert Crumb bookmark, a bag of Atole (never had that before, but it's with walnut flavour!), two bags of pecan nuts (one sweet and one savoury, the latter is opened already), a charcoal-like chunk of soap (from Soap Girl, Dallas, Texas [!!]), an Irish-Whisky-flavoured chocolate bar and a book by Philip Connors (interesting, already read the haikus at the end).
Not much detective work required for the identity of my Secret Santa, then (even without the sadly compulsory address)![]()

Aw, Felix! Glad that it got there in time. I did do a small amount of stalking and it was fairly easy to get a haul I thought you would be happy with. That book I was particularly happy to pick up, I had read so many things about it and to find a good copy cheered me up no end. Yes, the tape is crazy but it is totally compostable so throw it on the grass!
(Hope the knee is better too!)
