Let's talk about life

Postby GoogaMooga » 28 Sep 2020, 21:57

Life is an isosceles right triangle. If you call the left point A, the top point B, and the right point C, then you are expected to pass through B in order to go from A to C. The problem occurs when you want to go directly from A to C, without passing through B. I know I am expected to go through B, but I'd much rather go straight to C. So I trundle through life passing through all those B's, because that is the expected thing to do, the dignified thing to do. The choice then is the struggle, because the meaning of life is in the struggle. Or you realize it's not worth the bother, and just stay at A. Either way, C is a distant goal, and there is no guarantee that it is even worth the effort.

I tend to associate the word with "spiraling out of control"

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

after careful consideration and years of experience, i have come to the conclusion that life looks like this:

namely, you start at A and then all hell breaks loose. you are lucky to get anywhere unscathed and without vertigo. the best way to take it can be found in the immortal words of buckaroo banzai: "wherever you go, there you are."

"That's life"

"What's life?"

"A magazine"

"Oh yeah? How much is it?"

"A buck"

"Hmm, I only have 50 cents"

"Oh well, that's life"

"What's life?"

...

Oooh life

Is bigger

It's bigger than you

And you are not me...

How about the Eurotrash hit, "Life is Life"?

Life is like a shit sandwich.

The more bread you have, the less shit you have to eat*

The rarer, the better. Bad Boy is another rare one.

The Holy Grail among Ringo collectors (a category in search of a collective noun if ever there
was one!), Goops, is a post-Goodnight Vienna collection with some halfway decent tunes on!

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing
Each time I find myself layin' flat on my face
I just pick myself up and get back in the race
That's life (that's life), that's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cuttin' out but my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothin' shakin' come this here November
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die

There was a follow-up to Blast From the Past.

I'm afraid of the dark,
Especially when I'm in a park
And there's no-one else around,
Oh, I get the shivers
I don't want to see a ghost,
It's a sight that I fear most
I'd rather have a piece of toast
And watch the evening news
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

C’est la vie

Have your leaves all turned to brown?

Will you scatter them around you?

C’est la vie.

'i'm bleeeeding, i don't think i can go on
i'm dyyyyying, my last breath has come and gone'

pity the man searching in the sky
looking for a sign from above
and he never caught a glimpse of
what he's worthy of

don't sit and wait for the world on a plate
it's not a stroke of luck or chance
just draw a bead on that sucker and drive
(driiiii iiiii iiiiive)

'i'm fallllling, i don't know what's up or down
i'm spinnning, i can't turn my life around'

pity the man waiting for a clue
can't tell what to do with himself
ends up as a fool
who lives for someone else

don't sit and cry while the world passes by
stop tagging after the other guy
just get a line on that mother and drive
(driiiii iiii iiiiive)

... just get a fix on yer direction and drive
(driiiii iiii iiiiive)

p.s. or we could listen to sweet virginia:

... got to scrape the shit right off yer shoes.
