Adults living with your parents

Seems to be a thing these days. Our son is back home with us and at first it was not great but now it is better. He had his own place for a while but I think he didn't realize how much it cost. (A fucking ton!) Why, I wonder, he and some friends don't pool their money and share a place but that doesn't seem to be a thing. I couldn't wait to get away from my parents but like my son I lived with them on and off a few times in my 20s and my wife and I lived with them for six months after we married. But what goes around comes around and one day (soon I hope) my kid will find the means and get a place of his own.
