What with all these different hats you Preludin guys are so fond of wearing
there probably wouldn’t be enough space for you all anyway.

I'm sorry, SS. A conversation I'd just been having elsewhere put me in a sour mood.
But it does illustrate how silly things have gotten 'round here, doesn't it?

I know.
Life is too short for all this interboard bollocks.
On the positive side, I guess it lets us alll vent some steam and
takes our minds off the awful mess the world is in right now

Re: Ban Jimbo?
Did my last post get deleted? Guess I’ll repost and find out:
I’m done with this. I spoke up in this thread in order to clarify why I’ve participated here less lately. Seems like several others are in the same boat. I’ve never had any great preference for Preludin (I don’t even have an avatar there) - but what I’m taking from this thread is that some folks here really want to push a decision.
So fine. You choose Jimbo, so that pushes me out. Take care.
You know what you get when you fight to keep Jimbo. You get more Jimbo. Enjoy.

Me too. There are lapses from time to time, but it works pretty well. I recommend it too!

You are all being played. The oldest trick in the book. The "Back me or sack me" schtick from poor defenceless Jimbo.
You want to allow him to set the agenda - carry on.
Personally - I'd rather we decided in our own free time, at a pace that's right for us, as to whether we allow the creep to continue to run riot on here.
I will say this though - if he stays on here after this, you can only begin to imagine how much that will empower him, can't you?
I've put him on ignore. That'll do for me - but if someone such as an admin (after due consultation with the board etc) decided to put this vote up, I'd gladly vote to remove him.
But the process should be owned by us - not by him, for his own good.

You're the one who proposed banning me you dimwit!
PS Tried to change my avatar and it wouldn't take and so I chose the coolest one in the pile.

Thanks for that.
I was on tenterhooks - I hardly slept last night in anticipation of your reply.

DD obviously doesn't need me to 'defend' him here, but... just for the record:
He is definitely not "the one" that proposed the banning - in any respect. He wasn't the first to bring it up, and he's certainly far from the only one talking about it.
And you can definitely cease with the 'not a troll' stuff - even if you do believe the nonsense you spout - you've irrevocably exposed yourself as one.
And if this does become "Jimboville," as one long-time poster here referred to it, I suspect you and your "defenders" (meaning the people that hate Coan so much that they're willing to delude themselves into thinking that your presence here is somehow a strike against him) will ultimately find that very unsatisfying. One can only hope...

Re: Ban Jimbo?
May I suggest a six month ban or at least until 2021? Maybe he would find a place better suited for his posts in the meantime and he wouldn’t even bother trying to return.
This is not the year to think about what we don’t have.
It is the year we should be grateful for what we do have.

Re: Ban Jimbo?
Here's the deal. If you ban Jimbo for 6 months then I shall promise to post on here more often.
I think Jimbo needs to step away for his own good.
So, whaddya think , huh? Jimboo for Jimbo !
Just a reminder . Jimboo doesn't like conspiracy theories. Jimbo does.
Jimboo is quite left wing . Jimbo is a wing nut.
Jimboo likes music. Jimbo listens for subliminal messages
Jimboo likes bats . Jimbo is a fruit bat
Jimboo is on prescribed medication to help keep him alive . Jimbo needs medication
This offer will be available for a short period only.
I urge you to consider your options.
I look forward to the flood of memories and reminders of all the times we had together.
Love on ya X

A free copy of Steely Dan's Aja album is available to the poster who makes me feel the most welcome to return.
(My original copy is the only record I ever threw out in the rubbish , having been gifted another copy I feel someone out there should have the chance to do the same)

Does it have to be a complete ban or can we just ask him to reign in in a bit?

Well prof. I think that on today's form he is (even for him) reaching the edge of reason. He needs to enter his own heart of darkness for a while.
I have a flowered up 12" single It's on if that is more to your liking prof.
Six months is enough, we're not savages.
