Ban Jimbo?
I say no. Jimbo is a font of amusement and enlightening alternative information. And he's about the only one who starts any threads here. Do you see how many views his corona virus thread gets? A lot more than there are BCB members. Actual outsiders are checking us out! And what he wrote about Kath I think was pretty funny and apt considering what she had said first. So no.
Question authority.

You're seriously unfunny and delusional.

If you'd like to tell how seriously unmoored from reality J has become, try reading his opening post in a Donald Trump accent.

Sadly typical Jimbo deduction. J, you do know that every time one of us clicks on the thread to read the latest post it adds to the number, right? And if they take the time to post something pointing out how pathetically delusional you are, that adds to the number, too?

Enlightening? Pretty huge stretch. I guess it's enlightening to see just how convoluted the knots he's willing to tie himself into to land at the desired confirmation bias. But it started repeating itself quite a while ago.
And he's about the only one who starts any threads here.
There's a lull on the board for sure - there's a lull in this kind of board all told, in fact - but that's a) not true and b) nothing to brag about considering the quality of some of the threads. Strange that a music board doesn't seem to talk about music much anymore, but here we are. I wish Jimbo (or anyone) would start a music thread or something.
And what he wrote about Kath I think was pretty funny and apt considering what she had said first.
When your response to being (cleverly, imo, but your mileage will vary) insulted is to respond with sexist cliche, umm...no.
I apologize to anyone offended by me bringing up the whole banning notion (well, it wasn't me that brought it up, I was the one who made it public). I see we are not in favor. Just thought maybe, just maybe, it would cause him to have a little self-reflection and maybe choose his battles a little more carefully. How naive I was (am).

Once the vote gets to 100, ownership of BCB is passed onto Jimbo.

Hello all you civilized people.
I know "banning" is an unpleasant thought and most of us consider ourselves above that sort of thing.
I'm sure there are people voting "no" using this very reasoning. you don't think his posts are "enlightening" and you don't think his response to kath was clever but "banning" just isn't the sort of thing you go in for.
well, how about this...
even if you DON'T want to ban Jimbo, won't you think of voting "yes"?
why? well, why the fuck not? it probably won't get him banned anyway but maybe it will put a couple of dents in that little tin-foil halo of his.
SO..
look in your heart. maybe you'd like to whop Jimbo upside the head with a sock full of shit. maybe you'd like to take a tray of ice cubes and pour them down the front of his pants. maybe you'd just like him to not sit up quite so tall in his chair the next time he posts.
Vote YES on Proposition JIMBO.
I am Sneelock and I approve this message.

Very persuasive, Snee.
It's just gotten a little closer.

Re: Ban Jimbo?
Did I vote to ban J?
No. Have never voted - and will never vote - in polls iike this because the number of aliases on the board mean such votes are both worthless and unnecessarily divisive.
Would I be sorry to see the back of him?
No. Ultimately, J's consistently cynical and insensitive trolling has forced many BCBers off the board for good.
Rather than ban this pathetic specimen why don't we all finally do the sensible thing and deprive him of the attention that he so desperately craves by ignoring his witless conspiracy theorising?

It should be easy enough to skip things that offend or annoy you. I don't have a beef with Jimbo. He insulted me once, but I don't think he really meant it. When you are on the same board for so many years, it can happen. No big deal.

Re: Ban Jimbo?
If Jimbo were banned, The Preludins would have nothing to talk about on their BCB thread.
