Uni Class of 2020

Postby Samoan » 30 Aug 2020, 15:48

No one needs to go to Uni this autumn, IMO.
Wait. Be patient.
They will be putrid petri dishes with hundreds of drop-outs for health reasons and the quality of teaching questionable.

Universities in the UK are being urged to scrap plans for face-to-face teaching until Christmas in order to prevent a second wave of coronavirus.

We already have the second wave which seems a little less than the first. If you believe the authorities.

Coronavirus cluster investigated at Scottish university

Public health officials at NHS Lothian are investigating a coronavirus cluster at university student accommodation.

A number of people have tested positive at Edinburgh Napier University's Bainfield accommodation. Contacts are being traced and told to isolate for two weeks.

But the university remains open though, with students and staff who haven't been asked to self-isolate have been told to attend as normal.

Utter Folly.

Pay Loadsamoney to a Business that will guarantee you at least a 2.2, assuming you don't drop out through sickness. Students (and pushy parents) so stupid I don't know why they considered going to Uni at all.
Best guaranteed career outcome, certainly for Humanities graduates - Aldi or Lidl.
Science graduates are in with a better chance.

Arguably corrupt Universities Businesses - Misrepresentation :x

Stupid students. Don't waste your money, it won't make you smarter if you are dumb enough to want to attend this year anyway.

Pushy parents and even Pushier schools :x

"We were all encouraged to come to halls of residence and meet new people, yet are now are being criticised for doing so," he said.

"We are all left wondering why we even bothered moving here since nobody I know has had any face-to-face interactions with staff yet - we may as well have done the course from home.

"It feels like we've been completely cheated as we were promised at least some sort of a student experience in the midst of the pandemic, yet now we're essentially confined to our own flats with signs plastered around the building ordering us to not socialise."

I do have sincere empathy with students who were mid-course, the second years and the finalists.

Take the money for their tuition (What tuition ?! - I've recently read of a BCB offspring's desultory experience in a Scottish uni) then lock them in.

The whole shebang an exercise in futility from day one of the Autumn term onwards.
