avatar question

Postby kath » 30 Jul 2020, 04:59

the avatar i've had since i first came here has up and vanished, along with its hosting site.

i can find all manner of cool animated fractal/hallucinogenic gifs online, but apparently, they are all too large to use according to the board avatar specifications. i don't know if someone helped me resize my old avatar or if i got lucky enough to find a small one. not having any luck now. i am tech-clueless here.

can anybody help a poor, afflicted kath?

i really don't wanna resort to using a nekkid viggo pic or some such.

thanks in advance

Sorry dear. Unfortunately, I'm as old as you are and just as inept. I'm sure some helpful soul will come along and give you a hand. G'luck.

Yeh - they've got to be really small. Have you got a link to what you want to use?

thanks, folk... and thanks for the offer, prof.

i *think* i've finally figured it out. all the animated gifs i found were too big. so i ended up finding a site that lets ya resize yer gif while keeping it animated. (i kept killing the animation every time i tried to save it the normal way.)

http://gifgifs.com/resizer/

once i resized it, i uploaded it to my imgur acct, and the board controls took the link.

yayyy.

well, i may be test-driving a few out. but i'm happy now.

yes, i am easily happified.

If you can remember kath's last avatar, you weren't really there.
