Watching Japanese news reporting covid-19 new cases and new deaths but this info is worthless with out context. I need to know how old the death victims were, how ill the new cases were and where were these people when they contracted the virus. Because we know generally that an overwhelmingly large percentage of deaths are among the old and weak in rest homes and this needs to be stressed in order to stop freaking out the under 70 year olds, stop the panic.

Pete, if you don't smell horseshit then I don't know.

Now that first sentence - a generalisation with no facts or context to justify it -
that really is full of some foul-smelling horseshit.

Absurd how you expect others - a national TV station already - to supply you with the sort of context you are unable to provide yourself.

Sweden’s top epidemiologist has admitted his strategy to fight COVID-19 resulted in too many deaths, after persuading his country to avoid a strict lockdown.... “Clearly, there is potential for improvement in what we have done in Sweden,” he said.

Jimbo wrote:May seem picky but according to the article Tegnell didn't say it was a "mistake." That is your interpretation.

If you accept that there is potential for improvement in what has been done and it has resulted in too many deaths, then that is - by definition- an admission of a mistake!! It can't be construed any other way - picky isn't the word. Wanky is the one you're looking for.

The rest of your post is such utter bullshit that I really cannot be bothered to respond - as soon as I see your correlation of 'more deaths' justified by 'better economy' then I just shut off.
People go on too much about the privileged background of politicians but actually Matt Hancock had a very humble upbringing in an Italian workshop owned by a woodworker named Geppetto who turned him into a human boy.

This might be fake news. I found it in the comments section on one of those yucky conspiracy sites. Maybe one of you can fact check it.

No, this is true, and it's fabulous news. And proves what I've long suspected, which is that you're a gazillion times safer outdoors than in.

Florida cases have doubled since their phase one opening, however, so it's still unpredictable and still on the rise in general.

I'm assuming you think this proves something that it really doesn't prove.

Some covidiots get away with it, some don't. Sounds like the ones in Missouri dodged a bullet. Good on them. Don't think I'll be planning any vacations there soon. I'll be staying the hell away from Florida too.

Out here in the 'burbs, though, we've had very few cases, and stuff's starting to open up.

The wife and I just went out to dinner for the first time in a couple months. Servers all wearing masks, socially-distanced seating, and of course outdoors rather than in. It was nice. Still not feeling totally comfortable, but it was nice to have that bit of normalcy.

Taken just before Japan's lockdown came into effect a few months back, the story below is most definitely NOT fake news -

100% of the people shown working out in this picture of the Gai Jim Body Shop in the busy Ro Hyp Nol area of downtown Tokyo
may die as a result of no longer being able to access any kind of fitness equipment

I'm reading a book about Trump's presidency and his treatment of the NOAA - the people that forecast hurricanes (amongst an astonishing amount of other stuff that gets routinely overlooked). After the terrible 2011 (?) hurricane season the woman in charge decided to find out why some warnings are effective in getting people to take precautions, and others weren't. She decided to do that by going out and asking those that have both been involved in and been in a near miss what their response was and why. It turns out that people that have been directly hit by a hurricane take note of warnings, whereas people that haven't, don't. Even if the two sets of people are literally separated by the width of a road (as in separating two small towns) the ones that have been hit take pecautions, those that luckily were not, don't. Although everyone knows that the path of a hurricane is completely arbitrary and could just as easily veer ten yards left, cross the road and wipe out the residents on the other side. Those that do not take the correct precautions because they, fort whatever reason, think they don't get hit by hurricanes - but those guys on the other side of the road do. It even effects the ability to sell houses, insurances etc although there is absolutely no logical reason for it to do so.

Hence the covidiots. They all live on Jimbo's side of the street at present.

And now famously lockdown-free Sweden’s economy is going down the shitter - just like the economies of all the countries who did lockdown.
