Postby Jimbo » 18 Feb 2020, 06:29

Had to start this thread because it dawned on me that I'd never heard of dark yellow.

Used to wonder as I looked at a woody mountainside what was the color of the dark space, i.e., the tree trunks, separate from the foliage. I thought it would be some version of brown but according to a TV painting show I used to watch it's black.

Hazel eyes are eyes that have a combination of green, gold, and brown coloring, which sets them apart from most other eyes, which are a solid color. The amount of each color can vary among different people with hazel eyes, which can cause hazel green eyes or hazel brown eyes.

I have olive green eyes with gold flecks, so they can be called hazel or just green.

Is the use of 'hazel' solely used for the colour of eyes?

It seems so

I have googled 'what things are hazel?' and I have got to page 7 and every entry refers to eye colour...?
[Page 8 goes into talking about hazelnuts]

Interesting
