What did you order?

Postby Jimbo » 18 Jan 2020, 03:18

Just back from Denny's. I ordered the breakfast time grilled cheese sandwich that comes with a hard boiled egg and all you can drink drink bar. My wife ordered the minestrone soup and toast combo along with chocolate and vanilla ice cream and chocolate pudding parfait, topped with fresh strawberries.

I ordered the paperback edition of that book from last year about the Chernobyl disaster that seems to be universally lauded as a good read. It comes out in a couple of days or so, I think.

I find hardcover books not so easily portable on subway commutes.

Looking forward.

I have no thing currently on order.

I had a bit of a shock just before Christ's Mass when my bank phoned me to say someone had tried to use my card details on line at ~ 01.30 am of a weekday to buy £70 quid of good(s) from Adidas and they computerised-smelt an "odd transactions" rat.
They sorted it all out real smooth, cancelling my card (I got a new one in 2 days), asking if I needed any help getting money and advising me to delete all my card(s) details from shopping sites I use, like Amazon.

I suspect the culprit is The AA (that's a car breakdown & recovery service).

I ordered some Fred Vargas (I really like Adamsberg's character as well as most of his fellow officers) as well as the first Colin Dexter.

A couple of Chester Himes books. They were expensive, as they appear to be out of print.

The last thing I got on-line was this magnificent Art Deco Steven and Williams Rainbow vase, which I won in an ebay auction. Now available in my shop!
