For those with long BCB memories, I have heard that Roddy Lumsden has died. Does anyone have more news on this?

Yeah it's on his facebook page. I had many conversations with him over the years. I'm quite shocked by this.
How sad.

Damn.

Met him twice, I think. Once with Livet, when we went to a reading he did at a local Uni in New York, and once at the London Jolly when Pillowz and I came over in 2009.

A great poet, and quite generous with his time and mentorship of other poets, as well as one of the more articulate defenders of newer music here.

RIP. His words live on.

Yes. I’m on a train at the moment reading a lot of his work again. I hadn’t met up with him for a few years - i forgot how talented he really was. Sail on.

Roddy took ill about 8 last night and died shortly after the ambulance arrived at the hospice. He’d been extremely frail. The funeral will be in London in about two weeks.

He was a wonderful writer and was getting better with age. So Glad I’m Me, his last collection, was one of his best and the one which engaged most directly with his love of pop music. RIP my dear friend.

Remind me of his BCB name. I can't think of it at the moment. Too much water under the bridge.

I’m pretty sure he hated me - or at least my posts.

But that’s okay. All the old battles are over. Rest In Peace, RcL. It was fun passing some time in this life squabbling with you over our shared love of music. Even if we didn’t love the same music.

The funeral will be in Honor Oak Park - if that's remotely your neck of the woods Pete please consider going. Everyone in range, please do the same.

Only had brief contact with him and tried his poetry which was not really my style but I liked his posting here.

Rest in peace good sir.
