The BCB gossip thread is at 24 pages at 15 posts per page (a quirk of our forum hosts) and far from all of them sniping, as is obvious to anyone who cares to read - all posts can be read by guests. As the dozen or so most frequent posters on preludin were for a long time active members here, and several remain so - including two moderators – obviously the goings-on in this place is of some concern and interest to them. Yes, of course some posts on that thread carry on old enmities - or, more accurately, personality clashes – but this place is hardly free of those. It's hardly boggle-worthy.
And if we're totting things up, how many times, in various threads, some started by provocation from preludin members (acting as individuals, by the way, there is no policy), others by bcbers, have you shared your opinion that preludiners are sad fuques (quite a cheery bunch, actually, living their lives to the full for the most part), bully-boys (soft lads more like, most of us, apart from the gurls), cry babies (never understood this one, one of those 'insults' like 'snowflake' meant to recast dissent as a character flaw), sycophants (this is a bit odd - surely sycophancy implies an attempt to curry favour by flattery, hardly a characteristic of, say, goatboy, or anyone on preludin, really)) and 'henchmen' (criminal conspirators, us?)? I would suggest that very similar posts to the one above by you alone, C, are at least in the three figures. Do you really think it impossible that posters you happen to dislike, for what I am sure seem to you to be perfectly good reasons, are experienced differently by other people, perhaps have completely different, but no less 'valid' ways of viewing the world, and ideas of what is important, or what they want from membership of a forum?
And in what way is it audacious that people who have been members of this forum for years should continue to post in it and contribute to threads that interest them 'as if butter wouldn't melt' (whatever that is meant to mean - you are hardly talking about skope or JC here). I personally have made many friends (of the on-line variety) in my seven years on bcb who choose not to be members of preludin, and I like to see what they are up to: I also like to vote in some of the cups, and contribute to the odd thread on Yakety-Yak, and I know that several people enjoy the photos I continue to post here on a regular basis (and yes, I also know that some people don't like them, or my prose style, but, well, their loss

). While I have had run-ins with a few, yourself included, I feel that simply avoiding people I don't get along with, and not rising to provocations, rather than picking at scabs, or continually restating grievances and bumping call-out threads, is the best way to deal with them.
All the best, genuinely,
Ray
