Clive James RIP

Postby Powehi » 27 Nov 2019, 17:36

A wonderful writer and wit - that rarest of people a jack who excelled at pretty much every trade he
turned his hand to. Shall be digging out his book of TV criticism, The Crystal Bucket, tonight in his honour

RIP Mr J

Just mentioned here on radio.

His TV-shows were among the funniest I know. His acerbic, dry wit and broad knowledge was grand to behold.

RIP.

Excellent line abuot John McEnroe:

'He was as charming as always, which means that he was as charming as a dead mouse in a loaf of bread.'

I always made a point to watch him on TV and enjoyed his wit and sarcasm. R.I.P. to a very funny man.

Same here. I never read any of his books and was surprised that he did poetry and lyrics too. He was always good value on TV and worth tuning in for.

RIP
