I saw this and thought about Jimbo .. I know that he didn't invent the everything bagel. Nor does he seem to want them to exist but here is some maybe real, maybe not .. history on them ...

For some reason, i've never thought about the everything bagel as being a "newer" type of bagel. I hate the trendy blueberry bagels as well as cheese bagels but love the multigrain adn whole wheat ones.

Can't remember the first time I saw an everything bagel? Was it really the early 80's? could be right don't remember them prior to first year in NYC in 83.

Prior to reading that trending article on Firefox, I thought that the everything bagel was around for years and years. Maybe some shops did do it with left over poppy seeds, etc. when they didn't have enough seeds for a full bin of one type of bagels. I started picking up the everything bagel when the salt bagels started to disappear.
