I rec'd an email that my missing cat, Possum, was living a few blocks away. When I went to the address, an older man was leaving the house, I asked him if he's seen a small white cat with gray spots/markings. He seemed confused, asked his elderly wife and they were bewildered. I thanked them and told them that I lived around the corner and my cat's been missing and that someone thought that they might know something.

It seems to be a dead end but I went by their house again and looked at the windows to see if a cat was looking out. I'll not stalk them but will more than likely put out flyers on their street this weekend.

I emailed the guy who gave me the information, thanking him and told him what happened but I've not had a reply.

Strange stuff. :(

The Chicago Blackhawks gave up four goals in the third period to lose to St. Louis by a score of 4 to 3. I hope that the Giants win today, the Saints don't play until Monday night.

I can’t find that thread where people get annoyed about the ‘new crazy’ things people say so I’ll add it here -

People saying ‘I was today years old when...’

So sorry, may he or she rest in peace. :(

The strange and scary thing is that I was thinking about one of my late aunts a couple of hours ago (problems with her will and my sister but it's a long story.) This aunt married a widower who's wife had been killed by a city bus. He received a nice settlement at the time and perhaps, that is why my aunt married him .. or not.

I'm glad that you're not a veterinarian.

Actually it was a school bus ( I thought it was a city bus) on the way to the Museum of Natural History, he was riding a bike and hit a batch of ice.
One reason I would never ride my bike in NYC. They have those citibank bikes to rent( no thanks)

So sad he was a nice doctor.

Sincere condolences.

I could never ride a bike in traffic. I'm sure that the bus driver and the kids who witnessed the accident will be having nightmares for a long time.
Maybe this accident will give pause to people who ride bikes in traffic and icy conditions.

So sad. :(

It’s dangerous.
Irrespective of how bad other road users may be.

A road is more dangerous for everyone in icy conditions - even pedestrians. Everyone who gets on a bike knows that they are going to come off worse in an accident, ice or no ice. Nobody commenting here has any knowledge of the split second chain of events or what guided the actions of anyone involved, and in the event of this awful death it seems like an inappropriate time to say that people should give pause to cycling in traffic. Where else should people cycle?

I rarely cycle in traffic precisely because it is dangerous. Anecdotes like this certainly gave me ‘pause’. Don’t want to die.

There are two sites that email me every morning .. Free Kibble dot com and Free the Ocean. it takes a few seconds and they donate free kibble and cat litter to shelter pets and/or clean up on piece of plastic out of the ocean. The sites could be frauds and they are basically there to both tear at your heartstrings and to sell product.

As I try to help animals and the planet as much as possible, I like to think that these sites are helping but I've noticed that less people are clicking. Oh well .. it only takes a few seconds, I donate to people and pet food banks.

I guess that I'm pissed that not everyone cares about animals or the planet.
